IVF #1 --Round 2
Ok so the medication arrived yesterday, HURRAY!!! There was an inject of Ganirelix and I freaked the eff out. I'm so paranoid about getting the cycle cancelled again that I don't even want that in the house!! Oh well, it was an accident and I'm not taking it obviously.
Tomorrow I'll be headed downtown to start round 2 on IVF #1. Since the Microdose Lupron is a BID (twice a day) shot, I'll be on a FID (five a day...totally just made that up) routine. Lupron and Lovenox in the A.M. and Lupron, Follistim, and Menopur at night. They've increased my Follistim dose to 300iu though so hopefully that, plus the Lupron, will get me where I need to go.
More to come later...

Insert Jeopardy theme song here...
Ok so the village has deliberated and come to a conclusion. Lupron it is.
They redrew my TSH (came back high and Synthroid was increased), Somatomedin (came back normal), AMH (slightly lower than last year but still ok).
Today I ordered my next round of meds...We've got Follistim 300iu a night, Menopur 150iu a night, and Microdose Lupron twice a day. Add the Lovenox into the mix and that adds up to 5 injections a day.
I'll start up next round this weekend. I'm still a little apprehensive about this Lupron but weeeee'll see!!!

The village is still deliberating....
I anxiously awaited Thursday's meeting of the minds. I had emailed my RE that afternoon in hopes of getting a call Friday with information on a new protocol. On the plus side, she emailed me back right away on the down side, it was to tell me she needed further bloodwork for them to decide what to do. So...the ordered a draw on my TSH, AMH and Somatomedin. Last Friday that was drawn and she said it'd be about a week to get the results back. Now...we wait some more :) Thankfully I've got time since I'm starting a class tomorrow and wasn't planning on starting up on stims again until the last week of August. Plus, my dear friend AF hasn't arrived from my cancelled IVF cycle either so she needs to get here stat so things don't get messed up. I'm pretty sure I'll need some Provera for that though...ugh, stupid body!

It takes a village....
to raise a child they say. In my case, it apparently is taking a village to conceive one.
A Facebook friend of mine has a similar pituitary disorder and I had asked her what her IVF protocol was for her kids. She mentioned she did an EPP (estrogen priming protocol) which I thought was interesting and maybe that would be able to help me.
I emailed my RE and asked her to call....and like the awesome RE that she is, she called early afternoon. I told her about my friend and asked if that would be something that she thought to consider for me? Apparently that is only used in poor responders or DOR (diminished ovarian reserve) and since I'm neither then an EPP wouldn't really do me much good. I suppose, thinking on it, my friend said she had NO hormones whereas my pituitary is somewhat functional and there are SOME hormones floating around my body.
Ok...so the real kicker is this....my RE tells me that her and 7 other doctors are getting together next Thursday and they're reviewing my case. I'm apparently a unique and interesting case to the staff. I'm not sure how I feel about this. On one hand its pretty cool that I'm so outside the box that it takes the whole staff to collaborate. On the other hand....OMG I WANT A BABY!!! On the plus side, this future child will be spoiled horribly for all the issues he/she gave us to get him/her!!! and they might even have their name in some published medical studies. Now wouldn't that be a cool "Show and Tell" for kindergarten??? LOL

Anywho....depending on the results of Thursdays meeting I may not even be put on the Lupron at all. I'm going to have to wait until Friday and email her for further direction. Ooooh the suspense :)
I totally want this shirt------->

IF -ADHD
That stands for Infertility ADHD and that is what I have self diagnosed myself with. Apparently its starting to wear off on my hubs because we talked about repeating IVF #1 and its timing last night and he agreed to start it up end of August during the last week of my class. Sooo...hopefully if hired for the nanny position I interview for, the mother is either a) understanding and allows me to be 1.5 hours late possibly on occasion or b) allows me a later start date than Sept. 4th. Either way, we're buying a ticket and jumping on the IVF train again. This time we're hoping to stay on the train the whole ride!
Granted, the July cycle would have been perfect timing (assuming we got pregnant of course!) but I guess September isn't all that bad either. If this cycle gets me to ER and ET and a BFP, then I'd be due about a month after my friend Sue's wedding, yes I'd be pregnant but I'm hoping I'm still "cute" and not "obese" at that point. I can take a Spring class or two without worrying about missing class and/or going into labor DURING class. Plus, since he's proposing I guess I can blog about this now...but depending on when they get married I'm assuming that I would not be pregnant for my BIL's wedding. Although knowing me and my luck when it comes to this stuff, I'm probably going to be. Now commence Google search for women going into labor during weddings....LOL just kidding...sorta. :)
