I'm seriously an expert when it comes to anything IVF related but when it comes to the basics of temping and OPK'ing I'm a total newb!!!  Not like I expected to see anything result from this but you never know...

So anyways.... CD 10 (Friday night) looked as close to positive without being positive out of all the sticks. With the exception of today, I've only taken one a day at around 630 when I get home from work. I'm thinking if possibly an LH surge and ovulation had occurred maybe its possible I just missed it on the OPK??  Since now they're gradually getting lighter and lighter maybe that's what happened. Well... I guess we just wait and see now!!

OPK experts are welcome to comment :)

This movie will NOT be seen....

If you can't even make it through the trailer, you have no business going to the theatre. Therefore, this movie will not be on my list of "Must See" movies.

I'd like to think Heaven has to exist because my baby Jack has to be in a place that wonderful. He's hanging out with all the other angel babies playing in the playground. Grandma/Grandpa Flynn and Poppy, Uncle Deuce, Aunt Diane, and Jen are all up there keeping an eye on him since I'm not there to hover over him to make sure he's ok. I like to think his sibling(s) is/are playing on the playground too and someday they'll take a break from the monkey bars and come to Earth. Nice thoughts, but I like to control when I think them.

I don't want to be forced to think about it while I'm eating popcorn, KWIM?

Aaaaand I would drive 100,000 miles....

I probably wont drive 100,000 more though sad to say. The way my little Cam Cam sounds these days I'm just waiting for her to blow up on 355. Le sigh. We have had a good run though....

So yes, my Camry's odometer hit 100k this evening. It's a sad and happy day. I think about all the memories me and my Cam Cam had. It began on September 7th, 2007 when I called in sick from work to go car shopping. I hadn't really intended to buy a new car that very day but somehow I can't say no to a sales person. Good thing I went to a Toyota dealership instead of a Lexus dealership, lol. My vehicle at the time, Honda CRV was well over 100k miles and after a slight incident where it was attacked by a cement pole , it just wasn't the same anymore. I was in the market for something safe, reliable, and a "family car". Even though I was only 26 years old and nowhere near getting married (thank GOD that didn't happen, LOL....story for a different blog, haha) , I knew this next car would be the one I was putting car seat(s) in some day and taking the kids to the grocery store in.

Ha...

I've been a futuristic thinker most my life and able to plan strategically on most things.

I bought a diamond ring at 22 because I wanted to trade it in to contribute to an engagement ring someday. Ok , so it went towards my wedding ring instead but close enough.

I bought a condo with intention of selling it when I got married to put towards a house. Ok, so the market tanked and we have to rent it out but we now own two properties.... comes in handy at tax time!

My only purchase that was a bust was my Camry. I should have bought the Lexus sports car instead...had I known.  ::Sigh::  Oh well...

I'm enjoying what time I have left with the car until she blows up.

On a different topic....  I stopped at Jewel after work to pick up some birthday cards and a cake for our monthly birthday celebration at work tomorrow. I went through the self checkout lane but a cashier came up to me and asked if I saw the coupon for the greeting cards. Well... no, I didn't!! How did I miss a coupon, tell me!!!!   Apparently you buy 3 cards over $2.99 and you get a bunny statue and since I was buying 6 cards I could get 2 bunny statues. Awww, how cute I thought why not and told her I'd like two bunnies. Then she asks, "Boy or girl bunnies" , and my brain just stopped and I couldn't process..... If I only had one bunny to get I'd get a boy for Jack and put him in the Memory Garden this Spring....but two?? Hmmm. So I picked a boy and a girl. I always kinda feel like my rainbow would be a girl so why not. Here are my two little bunnies for the garden...cute aren't they? I'll call them Jack and Bunny since we aren't "naming" our rainbow until he/she is on this earth and breathing.

Fun with pee sticks and today's beta level

A fun new project, peeing!!

CD7 for your viewing pleasure!  Today , maybe possibly, there was some EWCM I found during a bathroom break. Hmmm!!!

So about today's beta....   11

Not zero , but definitely making its way down on its own. Very strange but suddenly, the RE's office has changed their tune as to what this is all about. The nurse that called me on Wednesday to tell me my pregnancy isn't viable told me today "We cant be sure that was a pregnancy or not since your levels weren't followed to zero."  MmmmHmmm, right.  Strange how that's the story now that its looking from my betas that they weren't going haywire from Jack but that they are probably going down from a chemical but whatever. That is why I'm having fun with my new pee sticks.

From what I read, you can still ovulate with a low amount of hcg in the system so might as well pee to my hearts content , you never know until you pee!!! Plus today's looks darker than yesterday so can't wait to see tomorrow's!!!

Wouldn't it be great to have a baby without Lupron being involved?!?    Ahhhh, what a nice thought :)

My guests arrived!!!

So excited I could just pee!!! And so I did!!! LOL

Cd6, not a bad start!!!

Happy 3 month angelversary baby

Three months ago today, you had been gone almost two hours.

Three months ago today, I was being rushed to surgery

Three months ago today, I was faced with five days ahead of me that I'd fear for my life

Three months ago today, I didn't know how I'd go on living

Today, I'm still in denial

Today, I'm still in shambles

Today, I'm still breathing

Today, life goes on for everyone else but you

Tomorrow, will be another day

Tomorrow, you still wont be here

Tomorrow, I'll still cry for you at night

Tomorrow, we have to keep going

Love you every second sweet baby. Mommy, Daddy and Chesney miss you!

Getting excited about Vegas!!!

Since I'm not on Facebook as of today, I'll probably be linking new photos to our website. I've had a Shutterfly page for years and always kept it up but never really advertised it. Well...no time like the present right?

So.... here are the pics from my last trip to Vegas. I was looking at them today and I'm so, so, so, SO excited about our trip!! Hopefully the next (less than) three weeks fly by!!

Vegas 2008

So long Facebook.... sort of

Honestly , some days I don't know why I still have the thing. I sign in, scroll through my news feed , and want to throw the computer across the room. Especially now since when people post videos and it automatically starts to play....um, yeah, no. If I want to watch a video I'll press play. I can't stand to see babies and kids on my wall feed so 90% of my friends are being unfollowed anyways. Whats the point in even having a Facebook page at that point? So until I can either come to terms with the fact that other people have healthy living breathing babies and I don't, then I think its time for a break.

Anywho, I do need to keep it active for a few reasons....  This blog's Facebook page is #1. Also, my "Jogging for Jack" 5k Fundraising Facebook page is #2. Plus a lesser but still important reason is that I do like getting coupons from product pages and finding out about sales and deals.

So I made a NEW Facebook page and friended myself!!!  Nothing but coupons, products, blog page, and Jack's page.

Heads up though... my blog probably is going to turn into a mish mosh of things now since I don't have a Facebook page to tend to, LOL hope you don't mind random Chesney pictures :)

Here is a little video I made last year....ya know, to start the fun...  LOL , its difficult but please contain your laughter :)

My new house guests

Ok so lets recap.... Dr. Oz and his entire  medical staff think I was pregnant but it wasn't viable. Who are the medical professionals here? Not me, right? Ok so, maybe its true and maybe I AM the crazy one in this story.

I've been thinking back on my last few weeks..... I feel like one of those trolls on TB boards posting this, LOL heh heh. At any rate, please don't agree that I'm insane. I already know this... here's the honest to goodness truth about whats happened the last few weeks.

Bleeding from our loss stopped weeks ago finally, but then randomly I started getting migraines and my face broke out very similar to a period. Then I "started spotting" again on VDay weekend (the 16th) but attributed it to our loss bleeding reoccurring.

We dtd on Sunday the 23rd and about 1.5 weeks later started feeling really off. Dizzy, bothered by my stinky garbage at work, woke up twice early morning sick and threw up, super tired....even made a few jokes to Jim and my coworkers "If I didn't know better I'd think I was pregnant again".   I (STILL not happy about this....) had a SHG without a pregnancy test first, but Ironically the hell to follow...who would have thought it necessary. Dr. Oz couldn't get the catheter threw my cervix, it was closed up mostly. He eventually did get it to go through but it was difficult and I've never, ever, EVER had an issue with that. I'm wondering when the cervix starts to close up? Could it have been doing that to protect an embryo? Oh man...

Ok so from what I'm reading and taking in from others in similar situations a few things can happen.

1) You have retained tissue that can cause hcg to fluctuate up and down. However, every story of this happening is with hcg at very high levels. Not at a 7, which then doubles, which then comes back down.

2) Your betas can be very slow to get down to zero but won't fluctuate.

3) You can have a zero beta but have bleeding, signs of infection, cramping ...indicated retained tissue

I do not fall into any of these categories. The only thing that is an unknown is if my hcg ever fell to zero after Jack.

However, the more and more I think about it and the more and more the RE's office keeps telling me this was a spontaneous pregnancy.... I'm starting to maybe, kinda, sorta, a little bit possibly believe it?

So I bought these new friends to join me in my house next week. Provided my beta is on the decline, which would also further make me on "Team Spontaneous Pregnancy" with the RE, I'll start taking the OPKs.

Hey you never know....wouldn't that just be a shit kick in the pants. 2 IUIs, 5 IVFs, 1 FET, and the loss of my son and it happens on its own? I'd have to buy a lottery ticket for sure...

No baby, will travel...

One good thing about NOT being 33 weeks pregnant? I can go to Vegas and get shit faced with my husband on three weeks notice!!!  Which is exactly what I plan on doing !!! Can any of my largely pregnant or kiddy toting friends up and leave with 3 weeks notice. HELL to the NO... HAHA suckers. LOL ok that was mean....true ,but mean, I sowwy ;)

Last night, after coming home bawling from reading an email from Dr. Oz pretty much ALSO claiming this is a pregnancy that's not viable, Jim said "Lets get out of here.... you need a drink" So off to our favorite Mexican restaurant we went for some good food and strong booze. While we were sitting there Jim said he wanted to get out of town. I agreed and said , "Screw it, why don't we". Jim agreed and said "Where do you want to go?"  Hmmm, somewhere warm....with a lot of alcohol....where we can go crazy at all hours....and have no responsibility....VEGAS!!!

Jim booked our flight last night for three weeks from now. We're staying at Treasure Island so we can watch the pirate show. Arrrrrr matey!!!!

I'm so excited!!!   My Mom and I had a long discussion today about whats been going on with my crazy betas and the RE's office claiming this is a pregnancy....so I said, Hey...maybe I'll come back from Vegas with another "spontaneous pregnancy". She didn't see the humor in that, lol oh well.

The loss that won't get lost!!!!

I've never been so emotionally drained as I have been the last five days. Considering my child died three months ago, that's saying a lot...

Monday morning , as requested, I traveled at the butt crack of dawn for blood work to Dr. Oz's office. I was really irritated to begin with, plus completely exhausted from getting up so early. At any rate, they called me into the lab and I got the short stick and drew the old lady tech who freaks when she sees my veins. Great. Well, it must have been my lucky day because she asked if she could just look around in my arm (I'm normally a hand draw) and wouldn't you know it? She got it!!! I was so impressed since I can't even remember the last time someone was able to find a vein in my arm. Literally... I can't remember!!

Following my bloodwork I traveled on to work to anxiously stalk my patient portal. Ha, work? No.... I'm getting paid to obsessively hit a refresh button on a website. Finally, around 2pm my lab results were posted. Hoping and praying for a less than 5 so that I could reschedule my hysteroscopy for this Friday, I clicked the link to the results.

19.0

Wait.... what? That doubled. I checked betabase.com.... yes, it doubled 47.9 hours time. They look for pregnancy betas to double at least in a 48 hours time. Hmmm, that's weird.

I waited around another almost two hours and no call from Dr. Oz's office so finally I called them. I talked to a nurse who explained that I needed to come back in two days for a repeat, plus they'd draw progesterone and TSH. Still not convinced, I asked her how likely was this a retained tissue issue vs. a new pregnancy? I'm not buying the pregnancy theory I explained. She told me they couldn't be sure until they drew another beta to see what the hcg level was doing. OK....

An hour later I realized I had a missed call and voicemail from Dr. Oz's office. Weird, since I already talked to them. I took a break from work and listened to the message. "Hi Kathleen, its so and so from Dr. Oz' s office. Not sure if someone has called you back but your hcg went up to 19 so it looks like we have a spontaneous pregnancy on our hands here!! Call us back to schedule your next beta for Wednesday". Click.

I'm sorry, spontaneous what?

I'm not even kidding you, I told my coworker I thought I was going to pass out. I had to sit down. I mean, WHAT?!? Of course I didn't call back because obviously I already spoke to a nurse and scheduled my repeat beta.

Ok, I'm not going to lie.... now I'm thinking, omg, am I the idiot here? The entire DR. office thinks I'm pregnant and I'm the only one that doesn't agree!!!  Jim and I decided to go off the basis that I was pregnant and until proved otherwise pretend as if I were. Really? Is this possible?

No...but maybe? Commence two day freak out.

Tuesday rolls around and so does a massive stroke like migraine. Guess who has two thumbs and can't take migraine meds because there is a one in a million possibility that she's finding out the next day she's pregnant? This girl!!  Sat and suffered through the migraine at work all day. Pure torture, let me tell you!! I kept staring at my bottle of Maxalt in my purse, contemplating taking one, but feeling guilty for even considering it until I knew what was going on for sure.

To top it all off, a trip to the bathroom reveals blood in my underwear. Great, ok well that solves it. I'm getting a period and that's the end of that. No pregnancy, game over. I initially was upset by this but the more I thought about it I was a little relieved. If there was tissue remaining in there then perhaps this shed will remove it and I can avoid the hysteroscopy.

By later that night the bleeding stopped. Matter of fact it was only a little bit of spotting to begin with. Great, back on the "Ok...so maybe I really am pregnant" kick. No cramping or anything anyways it was just a little spotting. All night I tossed and turned and couldn't get a sound sleep in. Finally my alarm went off at the buttcrack of dawn again and found myself on my way back to Dr. Oz's for my next beta.

While the tech was looking for a vein on me, he was making some small talk about my betas. Since he remembered me coming in on Monday and loudly expressing that I wasn't pregnant and that I was hoping the level was below 5 or zero, he was asking what my beta came back at on Monday. So I told him it was a 19 which more than doubled. He had a little smirk on his face, to which I replied "I bet you don't get a lot of ladies in this chair with doubling betas who still insist they're not pregnant, huh?" He said no, they usually jump for joy. Hmmm....not me , I told him.

As usual, I obsessively stalked the portal waiting for an update. Today they drew my p4 as well so that should help clue them in if its a pregnancy or not as well. Finally, around 2pm the results are posted.

16.0 and my p4 is .45

Not pregnant. Duh.

A few minutes later though, the nurse calls me to go over my results. She says "Well, your hcg went down to 16 from a 19 so I'm very sorry but this is a sign that your pregnancy isn't viable." I just about lost my shit. What pregnancy?  I said, "I'm sorry but I'm a bit confused by all this. I had a loss in December and I'm pretty sure this is related to it and not a pregnancy. This would be the miracle of all miracles if it were a pregnancy." The nurse then asks me a few questions, including about my loss of Jack.... ok, someone needs to put a note in my chart because me having to repeat over and over that my baby died three months ago? Its getting really old.

So she says it could be cells left from the pregnancy that would do this to hcg but since my betas were followed to zero then its not likely. Uh... no , no one followed my betas. Apparently she wasn't aware of this and pretty quickly tried to get off the phone. I scheduled ANOTHER flipping beta for Tuesday and they want to make sure they go down to zero.

Screw this, I thought to myself, I'm emailing Dr. Oz about this. I drafted him an email, a little spastic given my state of mind, but asking him a lot of questions about my next steps. I asked if he thought methotrexate would be an option for me if my betas don't go down to zero. Also, if they do eventually go to zero can the hysteroscopy be skipped? I get a response back, stating that my hcg levels will be monitored closely to be sure the levels aren't viable (AGAIN with the viable!!!) and if they suddenly rise then he'd suggest a D&C as opposed to methotrexate as that would delay future pregnancy 3-6 months.

Seriously??

So basically, between Friday and Monday my hcg doubled what makes anyone think its going down to zero if it hasn't in three months?

I'm irritated beyond belief. I came home from work crying tonight and told Jim I needed a drink. So we went out for Mexican food and I had a big jumbo margarita. I think the guy knew I needed the extra alcohol because it was super strong. Seriously, Jack's been gone three months and I've been drinking most of that three months but my tolerance is still shot to shit, its pretty comical!

We also decided to get the hell out of dodge and go to Vegas in a few weeks. Jim and I both are sick of this crap and need to just do something fun and wild....Vegas should do the trick!!!

So basically.... still in the same spot I was in last week this time. Nowhere.

Changes

This weekend we've decided some changes around here are going to be made.

First.... If Jack isn't sleeping in the empty room than no baby will. We're moving Jim's man cave to that room, painting it the color that would have been the nursery and moving the few nursery items into what is now the man cave. Any future baby will have a new room painted a different color someday.

Second.... the clothes in the closet? Phsssst.... going, going, gone. If we have another baby someday and its a girl, she can't wear the clothes for a boy. If we have another baby someday and its another boy, I don't feel right about having another baby wearing what Jack didn't get to. I thought about maybe giving them to friends with babies since there are so god damn many of them but ummmm, nope. I don't want to see someone else's baby wearing what Jack was supposed to either. So off to Goodwill they go. I bought two garbage bags full of clothes from a woman on Facebook for $60 so its not like we're losing money on this. Someone else can have the clothes we bought which I'm happy to share with someone else and its the best way to do it where I'd never have to see the recipient wearing them. If you're interested in them start checking Goodwill stores around New Lenox, there are some really adorable duckie sleeper sacks about to be put on the racks. Newly (well in the last 4 months) washed and everything!! Even still smells like our laundry detergent, win!

Third... Jim and I made a deal that if we have another baby we're not buying anything. No clothes, no furniture, no bottles or wipes, nothing.  I'm on board with that 100%.... if a baby comes home with us from the hospital next time we will just have to stop at BRU to do some quick shopping.

Fourth...pretty sure I'm going to need to rid myself of Facebook soon. I've already unfollowed most of my friends online. If you are thinking of having a baby, newly married potentially going to get pregnant any day now, pregnant currently, or have children then your updates most definitely don't come up in my news feed. Basically, I see a lot of coupon tips, recipes, and infertility organizations on my feed. Not bad, but every once and awhile I want to make myself suffer and check on my friends pages. It never makes me happy just more upset and anxious so why even bother? I'm still trying to decide about this because I'm manning my 5k fundraising page and I'm very dedicated to that...plus I have a Facebook page for my blog here! So I'm not really sure how that would work if I left Facebook, if I could still maintain those two pages. Hmmm....well  see!

So hopefully some of these things will settle my mind a little more. I'd hate to go into another FET with nothing but negativity but its difficult to rid myself of it when its all around me.

Speaking of which... tomorrow is my second pointless beta. So excited to get up at 5am to get bloodwork done from my already bruised up hands to confirm that I'm not pregnant so that I can reschedule the hysteroscopy. I'm hopeful that by next weekend I'll have it completed and be able to focus on our next steps. Even if we wanted to, which we don't, we wouldn't have enough time to get into the FET for April. However, to plan for it mid/end of May I'd have to start the Lupron soon I'd imagine. I'd like to skip this week and fast forward to next weekend please.

Hysteroscopy Day- Part Two

Had I known I would have titled these last two posts "Hysteroscopy Attempt Day".

So we left for the hysteroscopy around 8am to get there by 9am....procedure was scheduled for 10.

On the way there, this came on the radio...
Jim and I got a good laugh about it, thinking Jack wants to come with us today for the procedure. We sang along and laughed in the car.

Finally we got to the RE's office and got checked in....still laugh how they put my age as 32.6. We don't need to round folks, a plan old 32 is just fine!!

Anywho, they got me set up in my room and in the lovely gown. Here I am.... not recreating the "Silence of the Lambs" picture though sorry...
Shortly after this, the anesthesiologist came in for my IV. Not surprisingly it took him 3 times to get a vein that worked. Thankfully it was only 3...I always like to tell people about the 7, yes 7!!!!  sticks it took to get my IV in for my first ER. It usually makes whoever is sticking me feel better!

While I waited for Dr. Oz to come in and go over what the procedure entailed, the nurses needed a urine sample to do a quick pregnancy test. Standard procedure of course and this part always makes me laugh. Although.... when they came back into the room a few minutes later and said it was positive? I wasn't laughing.

Both the surgical nurse and the anesthesiologist came in to pull some blood from the IV that was already started and they both were super chipper about it, like "Oh this is great, you're gonna be pregnant and get to skip all this". No one really understood why I was tearing up.

Thing is... I had asked all the doctors I've seen since December to run an hcg on me to make sure my levels dropped to zero on their own. No one saw the need for it. Who could blame them though....after a birth PLUS a D&C wouldn't it seem likely that they'd be at zero pretty quick? One would think so, but you never know.

So Dr. Oz came in and told us we'd have to wait for the bloodwork to come back. Anything over 5.0 is considered positive and we'd have to cancel the procedure. Well....now I'm thinking about it. Since I don't have normal (or any ) cycles that I'm aware of I suppose its possible to be pregnant and not know? I did some quick calculations in my head and decided that if this beta came back positive and was in the hundreds (100-300) then OMG its possible I was pregnant.

We sat there for 1.5 hours in my gown and with the IV in my hand waiting for the bloodwork to come back. Finally , Dr. Oz came back into our room and said " Its a 7.1 , that's positive you're free to go today". Well that's a load of crap...7 .1?????   That's practically nothing, barely positive, but protocol of the office states its positive and they wont do a hysteroscopy on someone who could potentially be pregnant. Apparently despite the fact that its CLEARLY from their previous loss. I mean, the hysteroscopy was being done to confirm suspicion of retained tissue. Wouldn't retained tissue keep some hcg in the system?

Of course, the nurses and anesthesiologist come back in all happy. Yay, its positive!!! Yet, I'm bawling at this point. I told them, NO! I'm not pregnant....this has to be from my loss. What can you do though, they can't take a chance just on my word alone and I understand that.

Now.... I have to go for beta #2 on Monday to confirm its not a pregnancy. Once they get those results back I can call and reschedule my hysteroscopy. Another day off work, fanfreakin' tastic. As if I'm not already far enough behind on the workload of 4 people that I have to do daily....add another day to it.

However, now I get to sit all weekend and obsess over this. My first question is , if my beta was only 7 then how the hell did the urine test positive? So I'll be obsessing over that....maybe they entered the number of my beta wrong. Maybe its 71.1 and not 7.11 ...or maybe its 711.0?  Maybe I actually am pregnant and they were just rushed to get my test result back to me? Ok, ok stop laughing. I know its crazy but these are the goofy things I think of. Of course, you and I both know its not true. I'm not pregnant. Its pretty likely now that I do have retained tissue despite a birth AND a D&C because my body doesn't do ANYTHING right.

Nothing.

At all.

Hysteroscopy Day- Part 1

Here is my pre-hysteroscopy story for you....

So last night was the night I had to take the miso. I've been dreading that moment since they told me I'd have to do it last Tuesday. Thinking and obsessing over something a week and half really wears on you. It pretty much ruined my week.

Last night, 10pm came around and I just thought, "Oh well....shove it up there". That's exactly what I did. At least this time I know I'm not waking up in labor... <<insert uncomfortable laughter here>>

Hopefully I put them up far enough, I've never been very good at that. Also, I'm hoping they worked enough to fit the scope in there. I really really don't want to have to do this again.

At any rate, I'm feeling ok this morning. Every once in awhile I get a little crampy twinge but that's all. It sucks that I cant eat or drink because when you cant is when you want to. Oooooh, orange juice sounds good right about now.

Procedure is at 10am so hopefully its quick and I can get home and a sammich :)

Starting a collection

I've always hung onto fortunes that had an underlying message that might possibly imply I'd have a baby soon.

We used to get good ones years ago and then they stopped being fortunes and more so telling of obvious facts, for example "You enjoy being the center of attention". Well, duh LOL

The last two times Jim has gotten Chinese though they've been good. The second picture are the two new ones... Ironic the learn Chinese word is "still".

Promise Walk 5k --- "Jogging for Jack"

Hello all,
I suppose no time like the present , right? Might as well start getting the word out now!!!

Jim and I are participating in the "Promise Walk"  5k on Sunday, May 18th, 2014 and benefits the Preeclampsia Foundation to better assist the researchers to learn more about preeclampsia. Since we’re unable to find answers for our own situation, perhaps we can help medical professionals to find answers for someone in the future.

There are three ways that you can help us with this fundraising venture we’ve taken on.

1) Donate an amount that is comfortable on our fundraising website http://www.promisewalk.org/pfpw/participantpage.asp?fundid=4375&uid=13742
2) Join our team “Jogging for Jack” through our fundraising website, and your entrance fee will go towards our fundraising goal. Come walk or run with us in support!
3) Spread the word about our cause by sending this email and/or link to friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, or even someone you just met in the produce department at Jewel.

Every little bit helps and hopefully someday no mother shall have to fear for the life of her unborn child or her own life as well because of this disorder.

Thank you for reading and we hope you can help!

Sincerely,
Kate and Jim Payne

Let It Go

Ironically , the other night I had a dream that I went skiing. However, instead of a ski lift they had a tall staircase you had to climb and almost like a water slide that you had to "Ski" down to get to the hills. When I got to the top, the lights went out and I realized I had to find my way down the chute in the dark. All of a sudden, I realized my family (random cousins) were in line with me waiting to go down the chute too. I decided to take my chances and hope to find my way but then realized.... I didn't have any skis on so I was forced to slide belly first down the chute and crawl down the snowy hill on hands and knees.

If you read my blog fairly often you probably know I'm always up for a dream interpretation and I feel this one really just screams obviously at me. I'm fumbling in the dark to do something that I've wanted to do....and although its slowly being accomplished, its not in a way that people usually do it, but I'm still insistent on doing it. Also...my family, they're there taking the journey in the dark with me to show how much they love me/us.

My new thing for the week is to let go of anger and hostility. I'm so very mad at the world right now. I'm able to have a nice normal day until someone mentions their child or pregnancy or I get home and go on Facebook and see a news feed of children. The evil loss momma monster comes out of hiding and I have had on many, many occasions to stop myself from saying (or typing) something that I'd later regret. I already feel like I lose a friend with each baby born but I'd hopefully like to gain them back someday and not burn my bridges either. Its not their fault their babies live/lived and mine didn't....so I'm trying to "Let It Go".

Return to Oz...so to speak

Well, things did not go as well as I'd hoped today. Matter of fact, I'm surprised that I'm surprised about this because nothing really ever seems to go my way. How come I'm not used to this?

My day started out ok. I was feeling ok with going back to my RE's office. Even when I pulled into the parking garage, walked across the street, down the sidewalk, up the stairs, in through the automatic doors, stated my name to the receptionist and told her I was there for an HSN (what they call it there). It was going pretty smooth.

The nurse called me back and was chipper as they usually are there. She brought me back to the recovery room that I'd be hanging out in until they brought me back. She explained the drill about the gowns and whatnot, yadda yadda, and left. Then I was alone. In the room I was last in after my FET that gave me Jack not much more than 6 months ago. I was so happy that day. I was so sad today.

Katy Perry's "Unconditional" was on the radio the nurses were listening to. It was all that it took for the tears to start flowing. I had second guessed being there big time...considered putting my clothes back on and running for the door. Just then, the curtain flung open and the nurse was there to take my vitals and medical history. I made up some lame excuse about something in my eye , but I was fine. Fine? Hmph, far from it.

At any rate, my blood pressure was awesome today. 125/84....well awesome all things considered. It would be nice to get that 117/74 back , I'm not going to lie.

After the nurse was done getting my information, they slapped a wrist band on me. It made me laugh that they had my age listed as "32.5". Apparently they count 1/2 birthdays too, lol :)

She walked me back to the procedure room where Dr. Oz was waiting with his super calming spa music. Ahhhh, if I weren't about to have a speculum crank me open I'd be pretty at ease right about now, LOL.

I've had an SIS/HSN/SHG done before and while it wasn't terrible, it wasn't the most comfortable feeling either. I was a little concerned that it would hurt but fortunately for me this time around was a piece of cake. He was done within about 10 minute and I had no cramping whatsoever. The bad news however is that he didn't like what he saw.

They way he put it.... when the ute is filled with fluid it should be an oval shape from front on and a triangular shape from the side. When my ute was filled with the fluid, he wasn't able to get either of those shapes to form. Basically one of two things... either I was in a funny position on the table or there is retained tissue/debris left over from my delivery. Regardless, they need to go in and find out. Bad thing about that though is that is a procedure procedure. Meaning, an IV... anesthesia.... day off work...possible cramping and bleeding depending on what they find/what they do while they're in there. At least they can try to resolve whatever issues they find while they're there...but still.

The real kick in the pants??  I need to take miso the night before so that my cervix is opened more for the catheter to fit in up there.

Wait, I'm sorry...MISO??

The same drug that I had shoved up my who-ha twice in December and caused me to wake up in labor, THAT miso??

Yes folks, that's the one....

Thursday night will be a tough night indeed, as well as Friday too. I guess I'm trying to look at this delay as a good thing. I don't think I'm quite ready to start the Lupron this week anyways. Plus, that will be more time for me to focus on my weight loss and health and train for the 5k in May.

Also, the more I think about it...having another baby due on or around Jack's birthday just doesn't seem right. He deserves his day to himself.

Here we go ...

Tomorrow morning bright and early I'm starting my day off with a uterus full of saline. Oh joy.

I'm not freaking out, which is a good thing, but I'm really anxious and nervous. I'm nervous about stepping foot back in that building when I should be 30 weeks pregnant instead. I'm nervous about having Dr. Oz find something wrong and send me for another D&C. I'm nervous there wont be anything wrong at all and I'll be officially FET prepping by the weekend. I'm nervous that if we start FET prepping this week, I'm going to be staring down the pee stick next month this time. I'm nervous it wont have a second line this time. I'm nervous that it WILL have a second line and I'll live in fear of losing another child.

I guess either way I look at it, I'm going to be a little on edge. I already warned my one coworker that I may be a bit of a nutcase with my second pregnancy. They probably will be the first to know about it since I see them everyday and I don't think I can hide nut case-ery when I'm in person, lol

I miss my Jack so much.  I wish he were here instead....but I must go on.

Diet Bet!

I joined a Diet Bet with some of the girls on TTCAL from TB. I'm so glad I did because I think it was just the kick in the pants I needed to get some of this weight off before TTC again.

My pre-pregnancy weight came back surprisingly fast....a little too fast for me but it is what it is. However, my PPW was as much as I could achieve last year before getting pregnant with Jack.

So...

Now I have an opportunity to lose the rest of the weight (or as much as possible) before getting pregnant again.

As of today, I'm now 4lbs under my PPW and so excited!!! If I am successful at losing the 4% required to win at the Diet Bet, then I'll be only a lb. away from my wedding weight. OMG!!!

Ideally though, especially since the healthier and lighter I am to hopefully prevent pre-e again, I'd like to lose and additional 5-10lbs on top of my wedding weight. I'm going to be realistic about it though and shoot for just the 5lbs.

It would be amazing if my weight now was my 3rd trimester weight sometime this year/next year.....also it would be even more amazing if my bump shots (if I am brave enough to take them next time) didn't look the same from week 4-week 18, LOL ... ahhhh one can dream :)
