Yes thats right folks....looks like I'm a mutant. LOL
Had my Endocrinologist appointment today. I wasn't to happy about it since I
really just wanted to schedule my growth hormone stimulation test and be done,
but whatever. The fellow they insist I see has NO freakin' idea what to do with
me. Today she even said so....great, thanks!
When the attending physician came in, I at least felt a little better. He was
able to answer my questions where I was satisfied with the answers. He said from
the crazy wonky hormones I have going on, its more than likely a genetic
mutation of my pituitary genes. That specific mutation causes certain hormones
to be out of sync....growth hormone being one. He poked at my flab and poked at
my neck and said that I just "looked like I was growth hormone deficient" based
on where my fat deposits are located. One, specifically on my neck....as he
poked it, he says to the fellow "see this fat? Thats not supposed to be there".
I'm like, great thanks again!
At any rate, they drew only one lab today , my IGF-1 (aka growth hormone) and
depending on the results is how we'll proceed. If its low for sure they're
giving my daily GH injections forever. If its low normal they're doing the stim
test. If its totally awesome well, then FML.
On the plus side, the IGF-1 levels should be back by next week sometime so
I'll at least know when and what the next move is going to be!!
