October 7th-- First OB appointment

My first OB appointment was on October 7th (9 weeks and 1 day) and it is now October 19th when I'm updating this blog. Oh geez, I'm slacking!!! Good thing these are still private blogs so its not really as much an issue :)

Anyways, Jim had to work but I wasn't too upset since he had gone to the first three ultrasounds and plus I wasn't so sure I'd really like this office since it was new to me. Thankfully I really like the OB I met on the 7th and the office is great too!! They have a few OBs that work in the office and since any one of them could be on call when you deliver, they ask that you make appointments with all of them at some point in the pregnancy. Makes sense to me!!! My first OB was nice and I'm sure I'll like the rest of them too!!

About the appointment....the nurses weighed me (same weight since pre pregnancy, yay!!) and asked me a TON of questions then gave me a booklet of information that I can read at home. It outlined all the tests that are mandatory and listed those that were optional. I never knew that the NT scan was optional so I'm still hemming and hawing about having it done.....I'm 11 weeks now so I'm thinking I'll just skip it.

The OB came in and talked to me about my IF history then did my scan....ain't she pretty?? I still think its a girl...

Honestly pregnancy so far hasn't been too hard on me. Its different, I'll give you that, but nothing so far that hasn't been manageable. Week 10 was the roughest so far with all day nausea that wasn't quelched by eating/snacking often. I've also had some issues with insomnia where my thrashing around in the bed caused Jim to vacate the bedroom and take up residence on the couch. Poor guy :(

That is about it....pretty much everyone knows by now including 95% of my coworkers. I'm helping plan the baby shower for a manager's wife. Its nice to be able to get involved in baby related activities again without being depressed or crying. Its a strange feeling but I'm liking it so far.

I'm also into maternity clothes ALMOST exclusively. Mainly just pants. My dress pants are way too tight but most of my shirts are still ok....here is me today about to go for dinner with my coworkers....
