15 weeks today! My week wasn't busy but this weekend has been pretty packed.
It started early Saturday morning when I volunteered to help set up and with registration for my hospital's "Walk to Remember". I came into the coordinating pretty late but I'll volunteer to help coordinate for next year for sure. I got there at 8am and help set up, then when people started coming in I helped with the Registration table. Honestly, the whole event was a little overwhelming. Not in a bad or good way, just that's what it was. When I did the walk for Preeclampsia it was a little different because a lot of the women there and their babies survived. This walk, however, was to remember babies that have died so every single person there was there because they lost their baby too. Just seeing all the families coming in with the shirts they made, with birthdates, ultrasound pictures, quotes, etc. on them made me really teary. Then I happened to step away to take a picture and when I came back, the other girl from registration had her family there. Her son had a little shirt on that said "My big brother is an angel in heaven" which was just enough to make me lose my cool in public. What can I say, it was a really sweet little shirt that I hope my child will wear something similar to for next years walk. Speaking of walk.... I didn't actually walk the walk part, LOL. The walk had a ceremony to begin with where they had speakers, singers, and a butterfly release. The best part was they had a program with all the baby names in there and when they read your baby's name you went to the podium and they gave you a white rose. My feet and back really hurt after standing for a few hours so I just went home, plus I was by myself anyways so next year I'll have to rally a team....or Jim, lol. Here are a couple pics I snapped from the event.
After the walk, I came home, took a brief nap, then started getting ready for my coworkers wedding! This was our only wedding this season....it was great :) We had a good time but we both were exhausted and left at 11pm, LOL we're fuddy duddies!
Today I slept until 9am but really felt like I could have slept until noon I was so tired. Only reason why I made myself wake up was because I had to prep my bags for a freezer meal party this afternoon! I did that plus a little laundry this morning and headed out to the party. I've got 6 crockpot freezer meals now and they all look really tasty!!! I think i'll try one out tomorrow and see how it goes :) I think freezer meals and the crockpot will come in handy very soon for us!!
Finally, although I took this picture early this morning, here is 15 weeks, tadah!
Where has the time gone? Didn't you just tell me you were pregnant?!
ReplyDeleteI felt the same way at our Walk to Remember. It was simple and short but the flood of emotions was just overwhelming. But just think, next year, you can bring your little one with a shirt honoring his/HER older brother :)
