Happiest Day of my Life....the story of us

So to start off my fill in blog posts during this FET cycle....I thought I'd talk about the happiest day of my life so far. My wedding day!!

Jim and I met on eHarmony....I figured I shopped for food and clothes online why not a husband ;)
I had been on a series of really awful dates in the months leading up to our first date. The night of our date I really, really felt like cancelling. I'm sure glad I didn't obviously!!  It was a snowy, cold, January night and we met for dinner after work. He showed up with a can of beer and a calla lily. Now, while most might have thought that strange we "bonded" over our love of beer and this was a can of London Pride, his favorite beer that he drank while living in England in the Air Force. So it was a special beer and now its "our beer". We sat and ate and drank and conversation was so easy I had never met anyone like him before. When we finally left the restaurant (they were about to kick us out) it was snowing and Jim cleaned off my car before his own. I knew right then I was going to marry that man. Before he got in his car I got a quick little goodnight kiss and I was on cloud 9 until our next date.....two nights later.

We really haven't spent much time apart since January 6, 2009 and our relationship moved pretty fast. We moved in together in August 2009, started ring shopping in October, booked our hall in December and were officially engaged on our 1year anniversary, January 6, 2010.

Since Jim gets his schedule a year out, we decided to plan our wedding for later that year. Halloween weekend seemed the perfect time based on his schedule so we booked our Friday, October 29th , 2010 date!!! (yes technically the hall was booked before our engagement....and yes Jim was there and aware, LOL)

Wedding planning was fun. I always enjoy finding a bargain and since we didn't have a lot of money to have a knock down drag out wedding (nor did we want one) , I found great joy in getting items off wholesale and bargain websites like these things...

LOL

In May we had professional Engagement pics taken. Here are a few of my favorites...

And our friends and family showered us with love and really fun presents in August...

Even though it seemed so far away in January....October came so fast it was scary.

My bridesmaids took me out for a rowdy (but PG) night on the town...

Then....the big day came!!!! All of us girls got our hair and makeup and had pictures taken at my parents house.

We got in the limo and went to our hall , where Jim and I saw each other for the first time.....we wanted daylight pictures and with a Friday night in October we were limited on time so we decided to capture the moment before the ceremony. It actually worked really well because we got to share that moment with just us and not 200something people (well, and the photographer, lol)

We proceeded into the hall to begin our ceremony!!  We hired a piano player and he played songs from "Wicked". The bridal party walked down the aisle to "For Good". The piano player then started the beginning of "Defying Gravity" and my 2nd cousins who are triplets and their brother walked down the aisle.

Soon the music picked up to the chorus and in walked my Dad and I. Honestly I thought I'd cry but I was so freakin' happy at that moment that I didn't want to cry I just beamed :)

Our ceremony was short and quick which is how all ceremonies should be!!! More time to party!!! LOL

The night was an amazing event and what made it all the more unique and memorable was that we had......karaoke!!!  I'm a karaoke guru so it only made sense that we should have it at our wedding. I only sang one song, "Tic Toc" by Ke$ha. Omg....LOL

I remember having so much love for my husband at that moment and while I thought it wasn't possible to love him anymore.....I was so, so wrong. I'm looking forward to see how much more my love for him grows over the years.

I get chills and teary eyed anytime I play this song....
