My company is big into fundraising and philanthropy so today they sponsored a blood drive with Lifesource held right in the parking lot!!
My one coworker was adamant that everyone donate and reminded us for weeks. Until this morning I had no intention of donating. I get blood taken often enough I need to conserve plus I'm such a tough draw, why put myself through that.
Anywho...I started eyeing up the breakfast treats and noticed a particularly scrumptious looking chocolate chip muffin but you don't get a muffin unless you donate.
I hemmed and hawwed and finally said ya know what? I want that muffin and marched over to the blood mobile.
When I walked in a few nurses came to say hello and get my information. I started rattling off my list of meds and when I got to Lupron the nurse was like "I'm sorry what?" I explained its purpose and that wa the end of my donating....you apparently can't donate if you're TTC because it takes so long to replenish the blood they take. Good to know!
So I was able to keep my blood, have only two needles as it should be tonight, and was still able to have 1/2 muffin for offering to donate with intention :)
